Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Overview

DollarMates Pty Ltd (“DollarMates”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the DollarMates website (the “Site”), why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access, correct, or raise concerns about it.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us. When you use the contact form on the Site, we collect:

  • name — so we know who we’re speaking with;
  • email address — so we can reply to you;
  • subject — so we can route your enquiry appropriately; and
  • message content — the details of your enquiry.

We may also automatically collect limited technical information (such as browser type, device type, and pages visited) through cookies and analytics tools — see clause 8. We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (as defined under the Privacy Act) through the Site.

3. How We Use It

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form;
  • operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our products;
  • understand how visitors use the Site, using aggregated analytics; and
  • comply with our legal obligations and protect the security of the Site.

We only use personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect, unless the Privacy Act permits otherwise or you have consented.

4. Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information to third-party service providers who help us operate the Site and respond to enquiries — for example, our email provider, hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics providers — each bound by confidentiality and data-handling obligations appropriate to the information they handle. We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DollarMates, our users, or others.

5. Storage & Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required to comply with our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When personal information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or permanently de-identify it.

7. Access & Correction

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading. To make a request, contact us using the details in clause 9. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.

8. Cookies & Analytics

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies, along with analytics tools, to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve its performance and content. Most browsers let you control or disable cookies through their settings; disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Site function.

9. Complaints & Contact

If you have a question or concern about how we handle your personal information, or wish to make a privacy complaint, please contact us at support@dollarmates.com, or via our contact page. We will investigate and aim to resolve your complaint within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the way we handle personal information. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect constitutes your acknowledgement of the updated policy.
